E-bulletin from the Diocese of Truro
No.113 May 2012

In this issue Parish Buying

The Parish Buying concept is catching on fast; with participating PCCs saving on average 11% on the items they have bought using the scheme. And one parish has reported savings of 40%.

For example, St Georges in Truro purchased two sets of Microsoft Office Professional at £60.84 each, including VAT. This software can cost in the region of £350 from other sources.

At the other end of the scale, the PCC purchased two boxes (1,000 each) of white self-seal DL envelopes at £9.18/1,000 including VAT, which compared very favourably with the £26.99 for one box of 1,000 paid previously at a well-known stationery superstore.

Granted, one has to shop around a bit because the Parish Buying Scheme may not always offer competitve pricing on all items. But it is worth signing up and always taking a look!
